The Coin of the Week (COTW) is a semi-promotional and informative period starting and ending with the 3pm UTC Sunday Tournament involving a sponsored coin.
Various coins and tokens have chosen to sponsor tournaments over the months and become the COTW, which typically includes a prize pool paid out to players after the Tournament according to their rating.
The COTW is usually paid out either directly to MetaMask or over Discord via the tip.cc bot, usually within a few days of the tournament.
